I must admit that I am counting the days until Christmas.
I can't wait to spend time with loved ones and chat around the dinner table. But I also plan to play my Christmas cds, light a Diptyque Baies candle and curl up in a sofa with a good book and a bar of good chocolate.

The last one, Jane Green's novel is the one that I have chosen to read first this holiday season, because a summer beach house story seems like the right amount of escapism that I need for this snowy holiday season.
The beach house tells the story of sixty-five-year-old Nan Powell who turns her home into a bed-and-breakfast. Then the guests arrive, and this group of strangers, each one with their own reasons for needing a break, will share joy and tears, heartbreak and love during their time in the rented house.
