I love Anek's delicate illustrations, which would be a great addition for my kitchen. Since I love Italian food so much (cooking it AND eating it), and the country as well, I would be delighted to have them.

Ann's Cookies

These might just be some of the best cookies I've eaten in my life. Ann's Cookies are moist and just sweet enough, with flavors like pistacchio, Nutella and Speculoos (remember the Belgian cinnamon spread that I like sooo much?), I have become really addicted with these little marvels.

Paris like a dessert tray

In Susan Hochbaum's book Pastry Paris, everything in Paris looks like a dessert. The theme, presented with gorgeous pictures and innovative ideas, is of course a good excuse to (re)discover the iconic buildings, objects... and desserts that make the City of Lights so attractive.

Sweet return to Paris

One good indicator that I am back to Paris is that you are certain to find me in a Pierre Hermé store making a selection among his delicious desserts. This time, I bought a vanilla éclair, rose macaroons and hazelnut and praliné waffles.

Colorful ice pops in seven minutes

 

I know what you are thinking, summer is ending and all... and here I am mentioning ice pops! But I am really loving the Zoku Quick Pop™ Maker, which freezes ice pops in seven minutes without electricity! Add to this the fact that you can personalize their designs however you want with or without the help of the "Quick pops" recipe book published by the brand. Don't tell me you're not falling for this!...

Comfort ice cream

Many/most of us who have grown up in Europe have childhood memories of Bonne Maman's delicious jams - and their gorgeous packaging. Even the brand's gorgeous still life ads or its ads with family scenes in natural settings have been offering the viewers for decades an idealistic vision of childhood holidays in the country. This explains why I was very excited to discover that Bonne Maman is now offering ice cream flavours. Knowing the brand, I can guess that this might soon become the perfect comfort ice cream for nostalgics or simply for foodies.

Mint tea at the Moorish Café

After a long walk through the narrow streets of the Udayas (see this previous post), nothing feels better than enjoying glasses of mint tea and Moroccan pastries in the Moorish Café. Le Café Maure (the Moorish Café), is a very popular place in Rabat. Situated within the Kasbah, you can access it by walking down a few steps or directly from the outside, by the street entrance in the rue Bazzo,  which means that you will also cross the small Garden of the Udayas with its Andalusian influences - an additional pleasure.

Sweet oranges

Moroccan oranges taste as if they were sweetened with honey, and we can never drink enough orange juice when we are spending time in the country. The second image shows our plastic bags filled with the delicious fruits.

Time for some couscous

From this image, you can guess exactly where I am writing from. Indeed I shared this delicious royal couscous with my family a few days ago after we ordered it from Sofia Palace, a restaurant in Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. Of course, the meal - with its chicken, lamb, caramelized onions and raisins, and the delicious vegetables and sauce - was delicious!

This also means that I will have a lot to share with you next week about my Moroccan escapade.

The very fabulous Jamie Beck...

The first time I found out about Jamie Beck was a few months ago via a  twitter post by Matt Wright. To this day, the images of this herbs de provence chicken recipe are some of my favorite food photographs. Ever. The same day, I added her blog in my Google Reader and I am so glad I did.

Lately, Jamie has been featuring some amazing cinemagraphs (aren't they amazing?) in her blog and this mouth-watering chocolate mixture one might be one of my favorites. Jamie, I am a huge fan of yours!!!
