La Minervetta

First of all, I want to tell all of you how sorry I am for disappearing during the last two months. I got caught up in the last-minute details of a family wedding, and my family has been through so many sad episodes recently that I needed to concentrate on this positive event in order to finally exhale.

Now, about the pictures above. I have been planning a future road trip along Italy's Amalfi Coast and during the research, I fell in love with La Minervetta Hotel in Sorrento, where I definitely must stay. I love the modern take of this 1950s hotel, its colors and its patterns.

Le Sirenuse

Italy is one of my favorite places on Earth. Whoever knows me, or reads this blog, can figure that out. So, whenever spring comes, I always find myself dreaming of new Italian destinations for the months to come. Recently, my daydreaming thoughts have sent me to Le Sirenuse hotel in Positano, on the Amalfi Coast, where I have been imagining myself eating breakfast while enjoying the breathtaking view before going for a walk around town...

A bar for (frozen) hot chocolates

Renowned French chocolatier Jean-Paul Hévin's Chocolate bar serves hot chocolates, frozen or not, among other tempting things. These tasty treats can be served with flavors like raspberry coulis, banana and hot pepper, ginger and spices or Matcha green tea. Tempting, right? I thought about this as we are now officially in Spring and I am planning to go there soon to taste one of these frozen versions.

As elegant as the Ritz

I am loving this series of pictures of Kate Moss in the Ritz Hotel in Paris, captured by photographer Tim Walker for Vogue. The fashion, the decors and the colors are stunning.

This photo shoot has taken place just as the hotel is about to close its doors in a few months for a two-year "unprecedented renovation". With the growing competition in luxury hotels in Paris, it is clearly a smart move from the Ritz and I am eager to see the result.

Colorful eclectic mix

I really like Hotel Thoumieux's colorful eclectic mix decor. I find it to be a fun, elegant and original address in Paris. Staying at a place which has a restaurant and a brasserie led by chef Jean-François Piège who won two Michelin stars isn't bad either, especially as it means that room service has to be fabulous as well!

15 years with Colette

Last week-end, Parisian multibrand store Colette celebrated its 15th anniversary in a tent set in the Jardin des Tuileries. The Colette carnaval was colorful, trendy and fun and there was everything needed for that: Amusing games, DIY activities, sports, shopping, good food and desserts (look at the cotton candy macaroons created by Ladurée for the occasion!) and even a cinema. Empanadas in Paris

The other day, I went to buy my cereals in La Grande Épicerie when I stumbled upon Classico Argentino, a company selling delicious traditional empanadas from Argentine out of a carrito within the walls of the famous food store. I tasted one with a beef filling and one with a chicken filling - the pastry was light and both fillings were delicious - and I still regret not tasting the spinash one. There will definitely be a next time.

The first food truck & the best burger in Paris

A few weeks ago, I was happy to learn about the first food truck in Paris! For a long time, I had been jealous of my US friends who were really spoiled with them. So, a few days after I heard the news, I went to taste the burgers and fries (yes, burgers with an 's') from Le camion Qui Fume (The Smoking Truck in French) and there is nothing more to say than these are the best burgers in town!!! The soft bread, the tasteful meat, the fresh fries... everything was perfect! I tasted the classic cheeseburger and the Bleu (with blue cheese, caramelized onions and Porto sauce) and I can't wait to go back and taste the other burger combinations.

Palazzo Margherita

Director Francis Ford Coppola's Palazzo Margherita hotel in the town of Bernalda, in Southern Italy, makes me dream of spending a romantic spring week-end there surrounded by beauty. Seduced by the splendid architecture and the equally beautiful decor by French architect Jacques Grange, I'd enjoy the delicious food made with fresh local ingredients while sipping a glass of wine, I'd also enjoy the pool set in the gorgeous garden, the walks around the old city and at least one or two of those classic Italian movies available for the guests. Sigh...
