One book I must offer myself for Christmas is Grace: A memoir. If you're a little interested by fashion, then you must know that Grace Coddington is the creative director of US Vogue. This is a person whose sense of style and visual aesthetics I admire; and as a creative person myself, I love to learn from other people's creative process as well as the stories behind their art. All good reasons to make me want to indulge in this book.

This image I found on Pinterest (via Nina Garcia) summarizes my dream reading corner: calm, comfortabe, with a view and surrounded by books to choose from. And beautiful too. I'll have it printed and added to my real-life pinboard.
What better books to read there than the Penguin clothbound classics that I've already started collecting (Oh what a pleasure to read Pride and Prejudice once again!...)? Or being inspired while turning the pages of these four coffee table books that celebrate beauty, elegance and living a chic or artistic life: 1. A privileged life, 2. American beauty, 3. Happy times and 4. Life in photographs.

I don't know if you read the blog La Tartine Gourmande, but let me start by saying that I am a huge fan of both the recipes and the photography of author Béatrice Peltre (If you haven't yet, please check her blog... now!). It is then not surprising that I was excited to learn that she wrote a book and you can expect that the next cookbook that I will buy is this gorgeous one called: La Tartine Gourmande, recipes for an inspired life.

I can't wait to be able to buy Chanel's upcoming book, "The little black jacket" photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, in which this classic fashion piece is worn in so many different ways. Photographs from the book are currently presented in an exhibition taking place in cities around the globe (I'll be waiting for the return back to Paris!)

Director Francis Ford Coppola's Palazzo Margherita hotel in the town of Bernalda, in Southern Italy, makes me dream of spending a romantic spring week-end there surrounded by beauty. Seduced by the splendid architecture and the equally beautiful decor by French architect Jacques Grange, I'd enjoy the delicious food made with fresh local ingredients while sipping a glass of wine, I'd also enjoy the pool set in the gorgeous garden, the walks around the old city and at least one or two of those classic Italian movies available for the guests. Sigh...

I love these pictures of Marion Cotillard by Mikael Jansson for Interview Magazine. They look so elegant and sensual at the same time. They manage to make the actress look extremely beautiful and yet quite natural (meaning not overly sophisticated). A brilliant work for the team (photographer & stylist).

In Susan Hochbaum's book Pastry Paris, everything in Paris looks like a dessert. The theme, presented with gorgeous pictures and innovative ideas, is of course a good excuse to (re)discover the iconic buildings, objects... and desserts that make the City of Lights so attractive.

... Talking about childhood memories in Europe, my first favorite books were the Belgian Martine series, and I still have the wish to re-create a collection of them (for my future kids/myself?) because these books were not only entertaining but really well-designed and beautifully illustrated.
It is therefore with great delight that I found a Martine-themed feature on children's fashion in the new September issue of Vogue France... Pure eye candy!!!

In a series of short films by female filmmakers, Miu Miu invites us into its feminine universe. "The Powder Room", the first film of the series, is directed by Zoe Cassavetes. I find it very romantic and intimate.
